Chongqing Social University is an adult college established on the basis of Chongqing Academy of Fine Arts, which is recognized by the state and directly under the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission.

1987, Chongqing Academy of Fine Arts has equipped more than 100 students with a full set of teaching and office equipment. The full set of Syllabus and Teaching Plan for Adult Higher Art Schools (including more than 50 courses) compiled by a special team according to the regulations and requirements of the State Education Commission and approved by Chongqing Higher Education Office, as well as the cash of more than 50,000 yuan accumulated by Chongqing Academy of Fine Arts through work-study programs at school, have all been transferred to the newly established Chongqing Society.

Previously, in the middle of 1946, * * * Southern Bureau and Zhou Enlai supported Mr. Tao Xingzhi to establish a social university, and the address at that time was No.28, Guanjia Lane, Yuzhong District, Chongqing. The school trained more than 300 talents to create a new China, of whom 15 died in Chongqing Baigongguan and Zhazidong.
