Southwest Medical University, located in Luzhou City, was founded in 195 1. Its predecessor was Southwest Sichuan Medical College, 1959 was upgraded to Luzhou Medical College, 1978 was upgraded to an undergraduate college, and it was renamed Luzhou Medical College on 20 15.
