History of Nanchang University Law School
Nanchang University Law School (formerly Jiangxi University Law Department) was founded in 1980, and 1982 enrolled the first undergraduate students majoring in law. It is the earliest law school (department) established in colleges and universities in China. Over the past 30 years, the school has made remarkable achievements in teaching and scientific research, which has sent a large number of high-quality talents to the legal front in China and made positive contributions to the local economic and social development in China and Jiangxi.

The college is composed of the Law Department, the Master of Laws Education Center (JM) and the Law School. In addition, Jiangxi Legislative Research Center, a key research base of humanities and social sciences in colleges and universities in Jiangxi Province, was established. The college has two undergraduate majors: law and intellectual property law, among which the law major is Jiangxi brand major. Three courses, Criminal Law, Administrative Law and Administrative Procedure Law and Criminal Procedure Law, were rated as excellent courses in Jiangxi Province. The college has a doctoral degree authorization point in social governance and legal system engineering, a master's degree authorization point in law, and the right of employees to apply for a master's degree with the same academic level. The first-class discipline of law is the key discipline in the Twelfth Five-Year Plan of Jiangxi Province. The college has rigorous teaching, strong style of study and excellent teaching quality. In the 20 12 ranking list of China university, the comprehensive evaluation of the law discipline of Nanchang university law school is grade A, and it ranks 45th among the domestic institutions offering law majors in 5 14. Over the years, the graduation rate of postgraduate courses has been around 35%, and the one-time pass rate of judicial examination is much higher than the national average. In order to further meet the demand for high-quality talents in China's legal system construction, the college has continuously intensified its teaching reform, aiming at cultivating outstanding legal talents, and actively explored the modes of joint training between universities and practice departments, joint training at home and abroad, so as to improve students' legal practice ability and broaden their international horizons. Constantly optimize the curriculum system, increase practical teaching courses such as case teaching and court simulation, carry out legal clinic courses, and adopt heuristic, inquiry and discussion teaching methods to promote the cultivation of students' legal thinking and legal reasoning ability, and comprehensively improve students' professional quality.

The college follows the growth characteristics of young students, insists on high taste and highlights professional characteristics, actively cultivates college culture, and uses students' spare time to carry out a variety of campus cultural activities, including the frontier of legal system (academic lectures on law), observing the world by law (legal salon), contending in the debate field (prosecution and defense contest, mock trial) and legal world practice (legal practice activities, "12.4" national legal system. The effective development of these activities has enabled the students in the first and second classes to contact and promote each other, cultivated a good school spirit and style of study, and improved students' comprehensive quality. Since the 20th century, students have made great achievements in competitions above the national level, such as winning many prizes in the national English competition; 20 10 second prize of the 8th jessup international law moot trial national trial; In the 20 1 1 international electronic negotiation competition, six students from our college entered the top 10, and one of them ranked first.

In order to stimulate students' enthusiasm for learning, with the strong support of law alumni, the college has set up the "Dongguan Law Student Scholarship" and the "Love in the Quartet" grant to reward and subsidize outstanding students and poor students.
