As far as the current situation is concerned, it is extremely difficult to transfer to the three universities (HKU, HKUST and CUHK), because the quality and grades of undergraduates recruited by these three universities in the Mainland are already very high, especially the college entrance examination interviews of HKU and HKUST are double-checked, and the schools are very satisfied with the students admitted. In addition, the Hong Kong government has limited the proportion of non-local students enrolled in each university, so it is difficult to recruit a large number of transfer students.

It may be easier to apply for transfer from other universities, but it is still more difficult. Even so, some students apply to transfer from mainland universities to Hong Kong every year. Almost every university accepts transfer students, but there are no places and no formal enrollment.

Deadline for application

In the absence of official data, the application should generally be made before the end of the first semester after entering the university, not later than the following year 1 month. Because the application involves not only submitting materials, but also coordinating with the target learning and enrollment department.
