Nankai University is a key comprehensive university directly under the Ministry of Education. With the support of the Ministry of Education and Tianjin Anti-Reform Institute, it has developed into a comprehensive research university under the national "2 1 1 Project" and "985 Project".

From 2065438 to September 2005, after the new campus was completed and put into use, the school-running pattern of Balitai Campus, Jinnan Campus and TEDA Campus was initially formed. 2065438+September 2007, the school was selected as a national "double-class" construction university.

The school is one of the comprehensive and research universities with complete disciplines in China. There are 6 national "double first-class" construction disciplines, 6 first-class national key disciplines (covering 35 two disciplines), 9 national key disciplines in two disciplines and 32 first-class disciplines in Tianjin. Based on the "two overall situations", the school continues to promote high-level opening to the outside world and continuously expand its international reputation and influence. It has established cooperative relations with more than 330 internationally renowned universities and academic institutions, and carried out high-level exchanges and cooperation in exchange visits between teachers and students, joint training and collaborative scientific research.

At present, the school has more than 400 foreign teachers who teach long-term and short-term, and nearly 1,000 international students from more than 80 countries and regions are studying in the school. We have undertaken eight overseas Confucius Institutes, including the Confucius Institute of Glasgow University, and established an international joint research institution with Birmingham University.
