Brief Introduction of Peking University History Department;

Peking University History Department 1998 won the first batch of first-class doctoral degrees in China. At present, there are two first-class disciplines, China History and World History, and doctoral/master degree programs are set up to recruit undergraduates majoring in history and world history.

There are first-class national key disciplines of history, including three second-class national key disciplines. Key research bases of humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education 1 each, postdoctoral mobile stations 1 each, teaching and research entities 10, 20 affiliated research virtual institutions, with more than 300,000 books and 2 branches of rare books.

Teachers' positions are open to competition at home and abroad, and first-class talents are selected. At present, a large number of middle-aged teachers with broad academic frontiers have become the main force, and a generation of historical rookies are thriving.

Among the teaching staff, there are 6 current and former members of the the State Council Discipline Appraisal Group, 4 senior professors from Peking University, 4 members of the Social Science Committee of the Ministry of Education, "5" from the Ministry of Education, 5 national famous teachers 1 person, 5 winners of the National Million Talents Project, and cross-century talents1person from the Ministry of Education. Most disciplines have recognized academic leaders at home and abroad.
