Jiamusi University, located in Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province, which was the first city in China to meet the rising sun, is a key comprehensive university in Heilongjiang Province integrating postgraduate education, general higher education, continuing education and foreign students' education. It is a pilot university of the "Excellent Doctoral Education and Training Program" of the Ministry of Education, and one of the ten key high-level universities in Heilongjiang Province.
Jiamusi, referred to as Jiashi for short, is located in the northeast of Heilongjiang Province. It is the sub-central city of Heilongjiang Province, the former capital of Heilongjiang Province and the headquarters of the former Heilongjiang Production and Construction Corps.
Jiamusi is the eastern pole of China, the center of politics, economy, science and technology, culture and education, medical care, commerce and transportation in the northeast of Heilongjiang Province, and the bridgehead of Heilongjiang Province to Russia and Northeast Asia.
Jiamusi is located in the center of Northeast Asia economic circle, with five first-class ports, which can connect Mongolia, Russia, Japan, South Korea, North Korea and Southeast Asian countries through river-sea combined transport, forming a large economic circle between six countries in Northeast Asia economic circle and Southeast Asian countries. It has become the political, economic and cultural center and transportation hub of Sanjiang Plain in Heilongjiang Province.
