First, academic fraud
The United States is a country that attaches great importance to academic and intellectual property rights. Reputation is also the lifeline of many schools. If you cheat or plagiarize seriously in the exam, or your report card is false, the school will not only defend the students, but also deal with them severely. Because the heavier the school deals with it, the more it attaches importance to academics. Maybe you think the punishment is too heavy, so the only way to avoid it is not to cheat.
Second, the attendance rate is not up to standard.
The United States stipulates that international students studying in the United States must be full-time students. After 9 1 1, the United States strengthened the management of international students. If a student is absent without reason, the school needs to report to the US Department of Homeland Security immediately. However, generally speaking, in school, if students are found to be absent from class, the first thing to do is to give a written warning. If they don't show up, they will immediately cancel their identities and report to the Department of Homeland Security. If you encounter this situation, you can also find a lawyer to communicate with the school, and turn the expulsion into detention and observation, so you don't have to report to the Immigration Bureau for the time being. In this case, you need to submit a personal development plan to the school.
Third, the academic performance is not up to standard.
If students' GPA scores are not good enough to meet the minimum requirements of 2.0, they will generally stay in school for observation first, and if they do not improve, they will be dismissed. This situation is generally because students do not adapt to the study life in the United States, or overestimate themselves, and their ability to enter universities is much higher than their own. This requires students to rationally analyze their own situation when choosing a school. American universities combine leniency with severity. Even if you enter a prestigious school, there are still many challenges. If they can't finish, it doesn't make much sense to enter.
Voluntary dropping out of school is not uncommon in America.
In America, dropping out of school is not shameful. Many celebrities have a history of dropping out of school. However, I'm not encouraging you to drop out of school. Bill Gates is only a minority.
There are also two types of voluntary withdrawal:
1, drop out of school and start a business.
2, don't like learning methods or other reasons.
If you are expelled from the school for the above reasons, but you still want to study in the United States, you can choose to appeal to a lawyer or come back and reapply for the school. The premise is that there must be a good reason to explain your credits or the reason for dropping out of school.
If you drop out of school voluntarily, you'd better go through the procedure and don't go back to China directly without going to school. If you are not sure what to do in the future, you can go through the formalities of suspension from school, which is also a way out for yourself. When you have to drop out of school, submit an application to the school, explaining the legitimate reasons for dropping out. After approval, the school will ask the Immigration Department to cancel your I-20 form. In this way, if you want to study in the United States in the future, just take the original I-20 form and transcript and explain to the visa officer the reasons for dropping out of school last time, various activities of the school, entry and exit records, etc. As long as the reasons are sufficient, the visa should be fine. If you don't follow the formal process, the impact on the future may be greater than you think.
How long can I stay in the United States if I drop out of school?
Generally speaking, the visa for studying abroad is F- 1. When you drop out of school, you will no longer be a legal student, but a country without students. F- 1 you can only stay for 30 days within the validity period of the visa, and if you stay for more than 30 days, you will be illegal.
