Summer vacation time in Japan
Japanese universities have two semesters a year, from April of each year to March of the following year. The two semesters of a school year are called prophase and anaphase, with April-September as prophase and10-March as anaphase.

Holidays in every university are different. Generally, there are three holidays a year.

Generally, summer vacation lasts for two months from early July to late August.

Winter vacation (New Year) usually lasts about two weeks from the end of February to the beginning of October.

Spring break (winter break) lasts for about one month from late February or late March to early April.

Generally, universities start school in spring, and most international students enter school in April.
