Food science and engineering is an undergraduate major in Chinese universities. The goal of this major is to cultivate comprehensive senior scientific and technological talents who master the basic theory of food science and the scientific principles and application skills of food processing and preservation, have the ability to analyze, detect, control and scientifically evaluate food ingredients and food quality, and can engage in food production, product quality assurance, engineering design, research and development of new technologies and new products, teaching, commodity inspection, trade and management of commodities and technologies.
