Starting from 1950, the school started a training course for postal personnel at the original site of the General Post Office of the Ministry of Communications during the Anti-Japanese War. On this basis, Southwest Post and Telecommunications Sub-office, chongqing post and telecommunications School and Chongqing Telecom School were successively held. 1959? In 1996, the State Council approved the establishment of Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications and started undergraduate education. In 2000, it was placed under the management of Chongqing from the Ministry of Information Industry and jointly built by the Ministry and the city. 2006? 1997 changed its name to Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications.
