After 30 years of construction and development, the School of Electromechanical and Automotive Engineering of Chongqing Jiaotong University now has three departments: mechanical design and manufacturing, vehicle engineering, mechatronics and automation. There are seven undergraduate majors, including mechanical design, manufacturing and automation (National Outstanding Engineer Program, Chongqing specialty), material forming and control engineering, industrial design, vehicle engineering (Chongqing comprehensive reform pilot specialty), energy and power engineering, electrical engineering and automation, mechanical and electronic engineering, and mechanical engineering. There are nearly 2,900 full-time undergraduates and more than 200 graduate students. With the goal of building a first-class discipline of mechanical engineering, it has set up six characteristic directions: modern vehicle design theory and method, performance and application of construction machinery, new energy vehicles and technology, rail transit equipment and technology, advanced manufacturing technology and application of transportation equipment, and intelligent technology of electromechanical system.

The college has a strong academic atmosphere and outstanding scientific and technological achievements. Up to 20 14, the college has undertaken more than 10 national scientific research projects, such as the national "863" project, the national science and technology support plan and the national natural science foundation project, and more than 10 provincial and ministerial scientific research projects, and won the provincial and ministerial scientific and technological achievement award 10. There are "Chongqing Rail Transit Engineering Technology Research Center" and "Chongqing Automobile and Motorcycle Parts Industry Development Research Center".

The college has excellent teaching and scientific research conditions, and has three experimental centers with more than 0.8 million sets of experimental equipment/kloc-0, with a laboratory area of 5,000 square meters, of which the rail transit vehicle laboratory is a municipal key laboratory and the transportation equipment manufacturing and engineering training center is a municipal experimental teaching demonstration center.

The college has always attached great importance to the cultivation of students' practical ability and innovative spirit. By the end of 20 14, college students have successively won 17 national awards, such as the National Challenge Cup Science and Technology Competition, the National College Students' Mechanical Design Innovation Competition, the National College Students' Mathematical Modeling Competition, and the National College Students' Engineering Training Comprehensive Ability Competition, and 10 student achievements have won the national "utility model patent". /kloc-the one-time employment rate of graduates over 0/0 is over 90%.

The College attaches great importance to academic exchanges and cooperation with foreign countries, and has established the "Industry-University-Research Alliance of Chongqing Shipbuilding Industry" and the "3+ 1" talent training plan of Changan Group Company. And established academic exchange mechanisms with foreign universities and scientific research institutions such as the Institute of Automotive Engineering of Aachen University of Technology, Kettering University of the United States, Saitama University of Technology, Infineon Company of Germany.
