Chang 'an University offers the opportunity to study for a second degree. The second degree refers to continuing to study another undergraduate major on the basis of having obtained a bachelor's degree. Under normal circumstances, undergraduate students can choose to apply for the second degree program of Chang 'an University.

The program requires students to choose an undergraduate major different from the degree they have obtained according to their interests and goals. After completing the study and requirements of the second degree program, students will get two undergraduate degrees, one of which is the original degree and the other is the newly applied second degree.

In 2000, Chang 'an University was formed by the merger of Xi 'an Highway Jiaotong University, Xi 'an Engineering College and Northwest Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture, which was founded in the early 1950s.
