Portsmouth University has existed as a higher education center since 1869. It consists of three main campuses and five colleges: Business School, Environment College, Humanities and Social Sciences College and Science and Engineering College. The University of Portsmouth also has a special resource center and two language centers. The employment rate of graduates in this university (the average of all majors) is 74%, which is about 7% higher than the average employment rate of universities in Britain.

General admission requirements
