The sociology department of Nanjing University has a long history. The former originated from the Sociology Department of National Central University established in 1928 and the Sociology Department of Jinling University established earlier. The latter originated from the Department of Psychology of Nanjing Normal University and was founded in 1920. The first dean is Professor Song, the second dean is a professor, and the current dean is Professor Feng.
