Master plan of "University"

At the beginning of "University", it said: "The way of a university is to be well-known and close to the people, and stop at perfection."

The "Mingde" mentioned here is the "beginning of life, good nature" mentioned by Saint Amethyst, and also the "self-nature" mentioned by Buddhism.

"Being close to the people" means loving the masses, which is "compassion" in Buddhism.

The perfection of "Ming Ming De" and "being close to the people" means "stop at the best". "Mingde" is the learning of adults, the body and noumenon of (Avenue); "Being close to the people" is a phenomenon; "Stop at the best" is the role. The three sentences of "showing virtue", "being close to the people" and "stopping at perfection" make it clear that adult learning is "body, appearance and use" and can be linked with Mahayana Buddhism.

What is the situation of people now? Now our "Mingde" is unknown, so our ancestors were clever and added the word "Ming" to "Mingde". This word is a verb, hoping to restore our "Mingde" to the light, which is the purpose of education.

Restoring "Ming De" belongs to "self-interest" as far as Buddhism is concerned, that is, achieving one's own virtue and ability. The way to restore "Mingde" is to break troubles. If the trouble continues, "Mingde" can't recover.

"Egoism" must be followed by "altruism".

"Being close to the people" means altruism, helping all beings to restore their self-nature, and then they can "stop at the best" and reach the ultimate of the best, which is perfect after all.

Who can stop at perfection? Confucius did it, and Lao Tzu did it. They are all good examples of "stop at the best".
