Evolution: History has always been a banner and benchmark discipline of Shandong University, which is famous for its "literature and history". Shandong University, as the origin university of modern higher education in China, set up the course of "Chinese and foreign history" as early as 190 1. Since then, it has gradually collected and absorbed provincial Shandong University (founded in 1926, with its school site in Jinan), national Qingdao University (founded in 1930, with its school site in Qingdao, and later changed to national Shandong University in 1932) and private cheeloo university (founded in19/kloc). At that time, the teachers in the history department of Shandong University were Yang Xiangkui, Huang, Chen Tongxie, Zheng, Wang, and other famous historians in China, such as Dingshan, Zhao, Wu Dakun, Xu Siyuan, Liu Dunyuan, Han Li Anqi, Sun Sibai, Huashan and Pompu. On this basis, the historians of Shandong University initiated a series of academic discussions with great influence, and founded the magazine "Literature, History and Philosophy", which is known as the "King of University Journals in China", and further established the tradition of "being good at literature and history" and the position of Shandong University as an important town in literature and history. Through the continuous efforts of several generations of scholars, a number of academic directions have been formed, which are in the forefront of domestic academic circles and have important influence in international academic circles. 1In July, 1996, the School of History and Culture of Shandong University was established on the basis of the former Department of History and other units.
