The college attaches great importance to academic exchanges and cooperation. Up to now, it has established academic exchanges and cooperation with more than 20 universities and research institutes in China; Signed agreements with universities and scientific research units in Japan Iwate University, Hong Kong Baptist University and other countries and regions to carry out exchanges.
The college has taken solid steps in school-enterprise cooperation. We have good cooperation with Shanxi Sanwei Group Co., Ltd., Taiyuan Iron and Steel (Group) Company, Tianji Group (formerly Shanxi Fertilizer Plant) and other large enterprises in product research and development and job training.
Based on undergraduate education and postgraduate education, the college has formed an all-round talent training pattern of doctor of science and engineering, master of science and engineering, medicine of science and engineering, bachelor of science and engineering and adult education. There are 582 undergraduates, 80 postgraduates/kloc-0 (including 54 postgraduates/kloc-0 and 26 doctoral students), more than 500 adult continuing education students and postdoctoral students/kloc-0. Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, more than 6,000 professional and technical personnel have been trained and transported for the whole province and even the whole country.
At present, there are 87 teachers, 34 experimenters and managers, including 29 professors, 2 doctoral supervisors, 2 associate professors and 25 lecturers, including 33 teachers with doctoral degrees and 44 teachers with master's degrees. At present, there are three departments of chemistry, applied chemistry and pharmacy. The Institute of Molecular Science, the Institute of Modern Chemistry and the Institute of Applied Chemistry specialize in high-tech development and transformation, four basic laboratories and a comprehensive experimental center. There are more than 9,000 books and more than 80 kinds of newspapers and periodicals in the branch library of the College.
After more than 70 years of construction and development, the college has a postdoctoral mobile station for the first-class discipline of chemistry, a doctoral degree authorization point for the first-class discipline of chemical engineering chemistry and applied chemistry, and nine master's degree authorization points for inorganic chemistry, applied chemistry, analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, pharmaceutical analysis, pharmacognosy, chemical engineering and pharmaceutical engineering. The undergraduate majors are chemistry, pharmacy, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry and applied chemistry, which are identified as provincial priorities.
Great achievements have been made in Party building, ideological and political work and student management. The General Party Branch of the College is an "advanced grass-roots party organization" participating in the Shanxi Provincial College Working Committee, and was named "National Advanced Grass-roots Party Organization" in 2006. The graduate entrance examination rate is over 40%, and the employment rate is among the best in the whole school. The college has been rated as the "advanced unit of employment guidance" of the school continuously.
