Tianjin Vocational College was founded in 1978, formerly known as the Second Branch of Nankai University and the Chemical Branch of Tianjin University. It is one of the earliest higher vocational colleges in China and the largest comprehensive vocational college in Tianjin. The school is the first batch of 28 "National Model Higher Vocational College Construction Plan" project construction units, the national key vocational education teacher training base and the Tianjin Binhai New Area skilled personnel training base.

Tianjin Vocational College has 10 colleges and 3 teaching departments.
