2A 12 is a kind of hard aluminum with high strength, which can be strengthened by heat treatment. Moderate plasticity during annealing, just quenched and hot, good spot welding, easy to form intergranular cracks during gas welding and argon arc welding. The machinability of the alloy after quenching and cold working hardening is still good, but it is not good in the annealed state. Corrosion resistance is not high, so the surface is often anodized and painted or aluminized to improve corrosion resistance.
