Huainan Union University was established in September, 1984. It is a full-time comprehensive college approved by the provincial government and filed by the Ministry of Education. It is located in Huainan, a big city in China. The school faces the winding Tang and Huaihe River in the north and the lush Shungeng Mountain in the south, with a beautiful environment and convenient transportation.
Since its establishment more than 20 years ago, with the care and support of Anhui Provincial Department of Education, Huainan Municipal Committee, Municipal Government and all walks of life, the school has made great progress in all its work. The school covers an area of nearly 1000 mu. The overall planning of the campus takes "adapting to local conditions, being unique and exquisite, being eco-friendly and people-oriented" as the guiding ideology, makes full use of the existing natural landforms, creates a beautiful and unique educational environment, and has clear and reasonable functional divisions, which is convenient for students and faculty to study, work and live, and embodies the humanistic spirit of being people-oriented and enjoying family.
There are more than 400 in-service teachers in the school, including 65 teachers with senior titles and 34 teachers with master's degree or above. The school has eight departments of mechanical and electrical engineering, chemical engineering, construction engineering, economics, politics and law, literature, foreign languages, computer application and medicine, and teaching units such as adult education department, basic research department and Marxism-Leninism (moral education) teaching and research section, which undertake the teaching task of cultivating students in ordinary colleges and universities. There are more than 40 permanent majors in colleges and universities, 15 "open education" undergraduate major. At present, there are 7723 students of all kinds. In recent years, the one-time employment signing rate of graduates has reached 95.39%, and the quality and level of employment are among the best among similar universities in Anhui Province.
The school has more than 30 advanced laboratories such as information network center, computer teaching center, multimedia, mechatronics, instrumentation, chemistry and chemical engineering, accounting, phonetics, clinical medicine, anatomy, pathology, and tissue specimen room. The library has more than 300,000 books, complete design functions, first-class facilities and modern facilities such as electronic reading room, which can meet the reading needs of students.
