1. Hainan Medical College is the only public medical college in Hainan Free Trade Port. Its predecessor was Haiqiang Medical Technology School founded by 1947 and private medical college of Hainan University founded by 1948.
In the past 70 years, the school has trained more than 70,000 high-quality medical and health personnel for the country. It is the first batch of pilot universities of the national excellent doctor education and training plan, the first batch of pilot undergraduate colleges of professional comprehensive reform of the Ministry of Education, the construction unit of high-level universities with Hainan characteristics, the lead unit of the national emergency medical rescue team (Hainan), the national aquatic emergency education and training base and the national maritime emergency medical rescue base, and it is a doctoral degree-granting unit.

1. The school has a team of high-quality teachers, including full-time teachers 12 14, 892 with senior professional and technical positions and 200 professors, accounting for 43.49%. There are 8 academician workstations, and 9 academicians of the two academies are introduced flexibly.
2. The school introduced 3 scholars from the Yangtze River, selected 6 national candidates for the National "Hundred Million Talents Project", 3 national excellent teachers, 28 national famous teachers from Chinese medicine colleges/KLOC-0, 28 special experts from the State Council, 4 candidates from the "New Century Excellent Talents Support Program" of the Ministry of Education, and 6 Hainan Double Hundred Talents Team/KLOC-0.
