Achievements of Nanjing Institute of Meteorology
From 1978 to 1999, the number of undergraduate majors has increased from 4 to 1 1. There are 3 master's degree authorization points and 2 doctoral degree authorization points, and a postdoctoral scientific research mobile station for the first-class discipline of atmospheric science has been established, and a perfect authorization system for undergraduate, master's and doctoral degrees has been established.

1977 set up four majors, namely, weather dynamics, climatology, agrometeorology and atmospheric detection, and also set up a math teacher class. 1978 newly added undergraduate majors such as atmospheric physics, physics teacher class and English teacher class, and opened three majors such as weather dynamics, climatology and atmospheric detection.

1999 has undergraduate majors in atmospheric science, applied meteorology, computer science and technology, information and computing science, English, information engineering, accounting, administration, environmental science, resources and environment, urban and rural planning and management, physics, etc. 1 1. , and opened 9 majors.

The school has the right to award 198 1 master's degree and 1994 doctor's degree, and is allowed to set up a postdoctoral research station in atmospheric science at 1999. Four disciplines, including weather dynamics, applied meteorology, climatology, atmospheric physics and atmospheric environment, were rated as key disciplines of China Meteorological Bureau.

In 1993, the school was approved by the the State Council Academic Degrees Committee as a doctor's degree awarding unit, and the specialties of weather dynamics, atmospheric physics and atmospheric environment were approved as doctor's degree awarding points in 1994 and 1998 respectively, which enabled the school to establish a perfect three-level degree awarding system for undergraduate, master and doctor.

During the period of 1990, atmospheric science, environmental science, atmospheric physics and atmospheric environment were rated as excellent disciplines in Jiangsu Province.

In 2000, the school set up 15 undergraduate major.

June 5438+October 2002 10, the school meteorology discipline was rated as the national key discipline. Student Honor 1994, Department of Basic Mathematics 1 Grade 9931Class Zhao Dongjie was awarded the title of "Outstanding College Student who gave himself up to save others" by the school and the title of outstanding Communist Youth League member by the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League.

During the period of 1997, Wu Jun, a student of basic science department, was awarded the title of "being a good college student" by the school for failing to save the drowning children.

On September 29th, 1999, before the 50th anniversary of the National Day, China Youth Daily reported on Wang Ji, a volunteer flag-bearer, with the title "Growing with the National Flag". Source: Jiangsu Teaching Management Research Committee: In the early 1970s, some teachers of this school participated in some important scientific research work in central weather bureau and Jiangsu Province, and made a number of influential achievements in the research of weather forecasting methods, meteorological research on Qinghai-Tibet Railway, military meteorology, agrometeorology, agroclimate and so on.

The school has made great progress in long-term weather forecast, monsoon, tropical circulation, mountain climate, hail, radar meteorology and short-term forecast, agricultural climate zoning, and achieved a number of influential scientific research results; 1September, 1978, Journal of Nanjing Institute of Meteorology was published, and it was publicly distributed at home and abroad from 198 1.

From 1978 to 2000, the school obtained more than 400 scientific research achievements and won more than 70 national, provincial and ministerial awards, including 13 national science conference award, 2 national natural science foundation awards, 5 national scientific and technological progress awards and more than 70 provincial and ministerial awards.
