Bujumbura, the capital with a population of 393,000 (20 12), is the political, economic and cultural center of Burundi. The old name of Bujumbura is Wusibula. In the west of the border, on the north bank of the eastern end of Lake Tanganyika. The average annual temperature is about 22 to 26℃. The city is surrounded by mountains and lakes, with pleasant climate and beautiful scenery. This city is a developing tourist city, with lush trees and flowers and expanding tourist facilities.
