Lu Zhi was written by Huang Tingjian, a famous writer in the Northern Song Dynasty. Huang Tingjian (1August 9, 045-1May 24, 05) was born in Lu Zhi, a Taoist in the valley, later named Fu Weng, and a native of Fenning, Hongzhou (now xiushui county, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province).

In the fourth year of Zhiping (1067), Huang Tingjian was a scholar. He served as magistrate of Yexian County, professor of Imperial Academy of Jingshi, magistrate of Taihe County, supervisor of Deping Town, proofreader of the secretary province, editor of Zongshen Record, supervisor of Fuzhou, judge of Xuanyilang Ezhou, judge of Fengyilang Ning, magistrate of Chaofenglang, magistrate of the official department and so on.
