Hunan Vocational College of Commerce was founded in 1950. It is a public full-time ordinary college sponsored by Hunan Provincial People's Government and headed by Hunan Provincial Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives. It is one of the earliest business schools established in New China.
Jishou University, which spans Jishou City and Zhangjiajie City, is a comprehensive university in Hunan Province and the only comprehensive university in Wuling Mountain area. It has successively become a university, a group of universities and doctoral degree authorization units jointly established by the State Ethnic Affairs Commission and the Hunan Provincial Government.
Hunan University of Technology is located in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province. Founded by the former State Administration for Industry and Commerce and the Hunan Provincial People's Government, it is a first-class discipline construction university in Hunan Province.
