Beijing Normal University is a key university directly under the Ministry of Education, and it is a famous institution with the main features of teacher education, educational science and basic disciplines of arts and sciences. The school's predecessor was Shi Jing University Hall, which was founded in 1902. 1908 was renamed as Shi Jing Excellent Normal School, with independent organizational system. 19 12 was renamed Beijing Normal University. 1923, the school was renamed as Beijing Normal University, becoming the first normal university in the history of China. 193 1 year, 1952 Beiping Women's Normal University and Fu Jen Catholic University were successively merged into Beijing Normal University.
