The choice of critical moment
July 6, 2022? Wednesday? very good

My daughter went to the middle school attached to the Central People's University. In retrospect, it was a coincidence that she chose this school. All this is for one person, that is, Mr. Liao from Fu Min, and our family is very grateful to him. Teacher Liao's hometown is Enshi. Every summer vacation, he will go back to his hometown to explain the enrollment policy of the senior high school entrance examination attached to the people. It was also his interpretation of 20 18 that made the children choose this school.

Teacher Liao came back these days, and he also introduced the experience of studying to the candidates after the senior high school entrance examination with his brothers and sisters who have already gone to college. Talking with Mr. Liao on the phone for a while reminded me of the first time I met Mr. Liao. It was 20 18, and my daughter who graduated from junior high school attended the qualification examination meeting affiliated to the people's government. What Teacher Liao said on the stage left a deep impression on us.

At that time, Fu Min originally planned to recruit more than 20 students from the top 40 in Enshi middle school entrance examination, but not many people reported, and later it was reduced to more than 70, and no one reported. Later, it was reduced to more than 100, and only 22 students were recruited. In the end, neither of them went.

Why is no one attending a good key high school in Beijing? This is because the middle school affiliated to Minzu University of China has developed too fast in those years! In just 20 17, there were more than 70 students on the Tsinghua North Line, and more than 40 students were admitted, occupying precious places in Beijing. Therefore, Beijing-based parents withdrew and asked non-Beijing-based minority students to take the college entrance examination in Beijing, and enrolled students separately in a separate plan, no longer occupying the quota of Beijing's unified recruitment.

As the saying goes, Peking University in Tsinghua is the north of Beijing, and Fudan in Jiaotong University is Fudan in Shanghai. So, how do international students share their share? The Ministry of Education is also caught in the middle. On the one hand, it is a preferential policy for ethnic minorities in poor areas, and on the other hand, it threatens parents in Beijing. Therefore, a two-pronged strategy was finally adopted, that is, the admission index of a province attached to the National People's University of China was given. The best universities in China have given this high school index, and most of them are 985,211universities.

This kind of treatment of giving indicators to secondary schools affiliated to the Central University for Nationalities is the same as that at the provincial level. Students have changed from the army of hundreds of thousands of candidates in the province to hundreds of candidates in the school. For students, the pressure of the college entrance examination is much less. At the same time, the chances of getting into a good university are much more than those in the local area. In addition, sometimes some good majors are not all in Tsinghua and Peking University. For example, the most sacred hall for medical students is Peking Union Medical College, not the medical majors in Tsinghua and Peking University.

However, many people are puzzled by the sudden change of policy in that year. They feel that they can't enjoy the same benefits as Beijing household registration, and their chances of going to Peking University Tsinghua are much smaller. Moreover, in Enshi, children of ethnic minorities can also enjoy the "strong foundation plan" policy, and the opportunities for outstanding students to go to Beijing are relatively increased. Therefore, many "top students" gave up the opportunity to study in the middle school attached to Minzu University of China.

My daughter has no chance to go to school. We all thought that she could only go to State No.1 Middle School. She bought a house and a car near State No.1 Middle School. We are still traveling during the holiday. Just arrived in Weizhou Island, Beihai, Guangxi, I received a short message from the State Education Bureau. The content is that the middle school attached to the National People's Congress enrolls students in our state, and requires our shortlisted candidates to conduct qualification examination for the senior high school entrance examination.

My daughter was very happy after hearing the news and strongly demanded to go back to take the qualification examination. At that time, she ranked lower among them and might not pass the exam. But my daughter is determined to go back and try first. I really admire my daughter's decisive termination of our journey when the future is uncertain.

When my daughter and I set foot on Weizhou Island pier again, we thought of coming in the morning and leaving at night. Really a little sad! Looking at the blue sea, blue sky, white clouds and waves on Weizhou Island, I hope I can stay in this picturesque place for a few more days and feel the great changes of the island. It's just that the plan is not as fast as the change! There are so many unexpected things in life that you don't know whether it was good or bad at that time.

But today, my daughter made the right choice. At that time, some candidates who ranked ahead of their daughters gave up going to the National People's Congress, and my daughter was finally selected and became one of the 20 candidates who entered Beijing High School. I remember that during the political review, Mr. Liao was responsible for preaching policies. At that time, teacher Liao's words seemed to still ring in my ears.

He told us that Grade One and Grade Two in the middle school affiliated to Minzu University of China are conducting quality education. They study by themselves from Monday to Friday and visit famous enterprises in Beijing on Saturday. Through visiting and studying, students can have a deeper understanding of modern enterprise management and take the first step towards society in advance, thus creating conditions and laying a good foundation for establishing a correct outlook on life and values in the future.

At the same time, I visited many museums and learned about the history and culture of China in the National Museum. Geological museum, the largest collection in Asia, can enrich geological knowledge; Reproduce aviation history in the Space Museum, so that students can understand the development history of China's aviation industry, popularize aviation science and technology knowledge, and enhance national defense awareness. Cultivate students to love nature, protect human living environment and raise environmental awareness in agricultural museums.

At that time, listening to Mr. Liao's introduction of this kind of quality education was unimaginable in our relatively closed mountain city, and it also made our children and parents in the mountain somewhat unbelievable. However, after studying in the People's High School for several years, the children found that these were all true.

At the same time, the biggest advantage of the middle school attached to Minzu University of China lies in studying in the capital. Many things in the book can be seen here, such as the echo wall of the Forbidden City and the Simuwu Dafang Ding of the National Museum. What you see with your own eyes will always give people a deeper impression. With such an excellent platform, students have increased their knowledge, cultivated their abilities and improved their realm.

And a person's ideological realm determines his height and embodies his level. These qualities can't be obtained by "reading and reading". "Reading thousands of books is better than taking Wan Li Road". If we can't effectively combine book knowledge with real life and use what we have learned flexibly, then such learning may be useless or even harmful.

More importantly, children make friends with ethnic minority students all over the country in high school, and even don't have to go to all parts of the country to learn about the local customs for the time being. Friendship with classmates is also the driving force for their progress.

Most of the non-local students in the middle school affiliated to Minzu University of China are local leaders with strong learning ability and quality. Let these excellent people study together and everyone will catch up with me. In the more competitive atmosphere of school, children will not give up the pursuit of their dreams, and they will become better.

Enshi Prefecture is the only poverty-stricken minority area in Hubei Province, and the middle school affiliated to Minzu University of China only recruits Enshi minority students in Hubei. And Enshi is the seed bank of high-quality students in the middle school attached to Peking University. Every year, there are some Enshi students in the middle school affiliated to Minzu University of China, and they are top students.

In the year of my daughter's college entrance examination, almost all Enshi's children went to 985 University, and the best universities such as Peking University and Tsinghua, most of them were Enshi's children. My daughter also went to an old 985 university, which is the glory of our family.

Who says a humble abode can't have a son? Through this kind of educational support, the state enables outstanding children of ethnic minorities in poor areas to stand on the same platform as children in big cities and enjoy high-quality educational resources. Who says all good resources have been plundered by powerful people? Children in our mountainous areas, as long as they are diligent enough and work hard enough, can win the political and cultural center of the motherland to study! Who says education is unfair? On the premise of great regional differences, ethnic differences and economic differences, education should develop in the direction of "fairness" as far as possible.

Through reading, we can truly change the descendants of ethnic minorities in our poverty-stricken areas, let children change their destiny through knowledge, let the descendants of these areas and families embark on a road of struggle and struggle with a high starting point and a high realm, and let children realize their lofty aspirations in a broader sky! Perhaps this is the significance of our choice at the critical moment!
