Sichuan University (referred to as Sichuan University for short) is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education. It is a high-level research-oriented comprehensive university located in the west of China, focusing on "985 Project" and "2 1 1 Project". Sichuan University, located in Chengdu, has three campuses, namely Wangjiang, Huaxi and Jiang 'an, covering an area of 7,050 mu and a building area of 2.54 million square meters. Sichuan University was formed by the merger of Sichuan University, Chengdu University of Technology and West China University of Medical Sciences.

The former Sichuan University was founded in 1896 by Lu, Governor of Sichuan Province. It is the earliest modern institution of higher learning in southwest China. The former Chengdu University of Science and Technology was the first batch of multidisciplinary engineering colleges established during the adjustment of departments in New China. Known as "one of the most luxurious campuses in China", Jiang 'an Campus of Sichuan University was founded in May 2002.

Jiang 'an Campus is a new university campus with ecological environment, gardening and campus informationization. The main feature of the overall design of the campus is to break the previous mode of symmetrical structure of the campus axis, implement functional zoning, and concentrate teaching, experiment, books, management and other buildings on a circular road with a total length of 2.2 kilometers and a width of 24 meters, thus becoming the hinterland of the campus.
