During her mother's illness, she kept a diary and autobiography every day for three years until her death. The following article is based on my mother's personal memoirs. The first person in the article is "I", that is, the mother herself. I added the subtitle of the article. Commemorate my beloved mother with this series of articles.
X. Complaining Movement of Young Cadres of the People's Liberation Army
/kloc-in the autumn of 0/949, the Young Cadre School in the Fourth Field of the People's Liberation Army moved to a place called Zhuodaoquan near Wuhan University. It is said that this was the place where Guan Yunchang sharpened his knife during the Three Kingdoms period, and it was stationed in the middle of a small wasteland.
At that time, just after liberation, the place was still in a mess. At night, we take turns to stand guard. When standing guard, work in groups of two, every two hours. We study without rest during the day. We issued a big gun with no bullets in it, which was used to scare people. I stood alone on the hillside, shocked. Fortunately, I didn't meet any bad people.
Our community is stationed in the Fourth Wild Artillery General Hospital, and many teachers in our school are transferred from this hospital. Our whole school is called Health School, also called Health Training Team. The captain's surname is Bai, and the vice captain's name is Bai. They have a division of labor, the battalion chief specifically pays attention to the doctor's study, and the captain Yang pays attention to our nursing team's study.
Our nurse team is divided into three teams, and each team has a vice captain. My team is the third team, and the captain is Li Jiashu. He is a tall man from Tianjin. It is said that she is the daughter of a big capitalist and took part in the revolution automatically. She is simple, loves work and study, and has great courage in her work. She patiently educates her little classmates and takes care of her like a little sister.
Captain Li often takes our third and other two districts to challenge us, either cleaning the house or taking the initiative to take us to the boys' dormitory to secretly wipe the sheets. When the boys came back from class, when the bed was clean, they were very moved. Sometimes when we are going out or doing heavy work, boys will take the initiative to take away our heavy work. The second district team is much younger, but they are all newly recruited children in Wuhan. Their self-reliance ability is poor, and the team in our third district is older, and they only got rid of it after training in Henan Qinggan School for more than three months, and their consciousness is higher than theirs, so we took the initiative to help them make some quilts and wash cotton-padded clothes, so the team in our third district is a model team.
Of the four classes in the third district team, our class is relatively new. There are several old female soldiers who have participated in the revolution for 2-3 years. Although most of them are around 20 years old, they have been in the army for a long time and have no academic qualifications, so it is particularly difficult to study. In our class, I studied better with Pan Hui, Zhang Jing, Liu Ge and Yang Jimei, and the test scores were all 100.
Our slogan is to eliminate the failing grades and strive for a score of 65,438+000. Although she studies hard, she has a poor foundation, and it is especially difficult to reach 100. I have an appointment, three people go together, come back to the toilet together, and discuss problems at any time, day or night. My team has been working hard for a year. Average score of the whole class 12 students 100. We have advanced health, good unity and effective mutual assistance. We have a self-written and self-performed Allegro for cultural and sports activities, which was compiled by me, and our whole class went on stage to rap.
1949, 10 or so, shortly after we arrived in Wuchang, China held a political consultation meeting to discuss the state system and political power of People's Republic of China (PRC) and set up the People's Republic of China (PRC) Coalition government. Our school, like the people of the whole country, danced with joy. I remember that the medical staff in the hospital also played drums with us. Knock gong. How happy the people of China are! Soon, a vigorous campaign of "checking thoughts, politics and origins" was launched in the school. Everyone expressed their loyalty to the party and talked about themselves. At the same time, a complaint meeting was held.
I also participated in telling stories about the sufferings of the old society and old families. In old China, the three mountains of imperialism, feudalism and bureaucratic capitalism were on the people's heads, and women were at the bottom of the three mountains. I remembered the golden age of my youth, which was spent under this hellish feudal oppression. I remembered that Henan Province had been ravaged by "floods and droughts, the Yellow River (the Yellow River) and the Tang Dynasty (the branch of the Kuomintang army)" in recent years, and thousands of people lived a life of selling children and girls. Kuomintang reactionaries, warlords, traitors, lackeys and Jiabao leaders who suck human blood and eat human flesh, they
I remember 1938, in order to stop the Japanese invasion, the Kuomintang bombed Huayuankou and flooded a large area of farmland and villages with the surging Yellow River. People were displaced and countless victims starved to death. Our family lives dozens of miles away from the Yellow River. Two aunts' houses were flooded and the whole family became beggars. My family used to eat bark, grass roots and goose dung to satisfy their hunger.
The next year, our hometown was dry again, and there was no heavy rain for three years. The Kuomintang authorities demanded that people pay taxes on grain and forced the poor to sell their children. That was when my aunt's cousin was sold to someone, and she was beaten all day. Twenty of the 24 people in my aunt's family starved to death, and my aunt and uncle sold their cousins before coming back to life.
My family usually has some savings. In the disaster year, plan ahead first, try to sell noodles, eat Sophora japonica mixed with bran every day, and finally not starve to death, and help my uncle and aunt. In those days, people didn't see food for several months, and the bark and grass roots were all dug up, and the whole body was swollen and dusty. When walking on the road, they would suddenly fall to the ground and die, and the dead in the street could be seen at any time.
I remember once, my uncle was so hungry that he came to my father and told him that he was starving and his son was starving. My father gave him the little money in his waist and told him to buy a steamed bread to eat. When he just took the steamed bread in the street, he was taken away by a group of children who robbed him in the street. My uncle cried and shouted, and the man who robbed the steamed bread ran and ate, so that my uncle could catch up.
Another time, I went to my aunt's house in Beixiang, and most of his family starved to death. The only thing left is a few barrels of grain bought by the girl, but the cruel Bao Jiachang comes to beg for food every day and even takes away your furniture. My aunt was scared to hide. I went to his house to see my cousin off, but her house was a wedding ceremony for the girl. My aunt cooked four dishes for the guests, one of which was poplar leaves. A table has no food, no vegetables, no oil and no meat. My uncle used to be a mature man, but now he can't get up. He just picked the leaves by sawing them off. On the way back from his home, I saw many dead people on the roadside. The dog bit out all its internal organs and ate a lot of fat.
The Kuomintang county government not only didn't want to help the victims, but also instructed Bao Jiachang to ask for food to force him to pay his debts. The landlord left the grain in Man Cang, and Bao Jiachang went home. After the disaster, most of the villagers starved to death. The farmers in the village did not have a cow, good fields, good houses, good furniture and good farm tools, and they all became the private property of the landlord Bao Jiachang. These are concrete manifestations of bureaucratic landlords and feudal forces oppressing the people.
At the thought of my mother's death, I have been a child bride for more than six years, and I can't cry. I was invaded by feudal forces and influenced by feudal ideas, so I dropped out of school early and my marriage could not be independent. I have never seen my husband take care of my in-laws first, filial to them, and take away my youth. I looked at the poor girl in the village, whose husband died, holding the wood and worshiping heaven and earth. I haven't even seen the shadow of her husband, so being a daughter-in-law in his house is just like her. I was really full of bitterness when I thought about this, so I spoke at the complaint meeting. Revolutionary compatriots and sisters know each other better and are more sympathetic.
