Semester system

The semester system is similar to last semester and next semester in China, that is, one year's study time is divided into two semesters. Most American universities will adopt this system.

The first semester is usually from mid-late August or early September to mid-late February of 12, which is called autumn semester.

The second semester lasts from 1 to mid-May, which is called the spring semester.

Quarterly academic year system

The school year is divided into four parts, each part is 10 week, of which the teaching week is 30 weeks.

Autumn school season: from late September to 65438+mid-February;

Winter school season: 65438+1early October to mid-March;

Spring school season: from late March to mid-June;

The rest of summer is a holiday.

There are relatively few American schools that adopt the academic year system.
