Rice rolls is the most common breakfast in Guangdong, which appeared in the Tang Dynasty and originated in Longzhou (now luoding city, Guangdong). It evolved from Luoding's special food, oily and delicious. Huineng, the sixth ancestor of Zen Buddhism, helped to create a new name called Huiji, also known as Dragon Shrines. During the Qianlong period, when Emperor Qianlong visited the south of the Yangtze River, he specially went to Luoding House to eat a Dragon Shrines named rice rolls.
