China Geo University is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education, a graduate school approved by the state, a national "2 1 1 engineering" and a national "double-class" construction university. China Geo University is located on the bank of Wuhan East Lake, facing the foothills in the south. Its main feature is earth science, covering science, engineering, literature, management, economy, law, education, art and other disciplines. Beijing Institute of Geology was founded on 1952, which was formed by the merger of geological departments (branches) of famous universities such as Peking University and Tsinghua University. 1970 The school moved out of Beijing and moved to Jiangling, Hubei Province, and was renamed Hubei Institute of Geology. 1974, the school was officially located in Wuhan and renamed Wuhan Institute of Geology. 1978, Wuhan Institute of Geology was established in the former Beijing campus, graduate department, Beijing. 1987, Wuhan Institute of Geology was renamed China University of Geology, with its headquarters in Wuhan and Beijing. In 2000, the school was placed under the management of the Ministry of Land and Resources and the Ministry of Education. In 2006, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Land and Resources signed an agreement to establish China Geo University. First-class geological disciplines in Peking University and Tsinghua and cultural genes of "democracy, tolerance, preciseness, realism and diligence".
