Joseph nye and Robert O. Keohane are representatives of neo-liberalism in the theory of international relations. They are concerned about interdependence, international system and traditional balance theory in international relations. Their book Power and Interdependence (1977) is a classic of neoliberalism. Taking the inter-state and supranational relations as the research object, they combined the realistic power politics theory with the interdependence theory put forward by scientific behaviorism, further analyzed the internal relationship between them, made a comprehensive study on politics, economy, ecology and military affairs, and put forward the "compound interdependence theory" on this basis.
