Donghua University, located in Shanghai, China, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC) and a world-class discipline construction university under the "2 1 1 Project".

One of the first batch of 28 national quality certification institutions for studying abroad in China, a member of the high-quality resource sharing alliance of high-level industry-specific universities, a member of the "Belt and Road" World Textile University Alliance, a typical experience-oriented university with the characteristics of deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform in China, and the first batch of demonstration universities in Shanghai. In the 20 16 academic ranking of world universities, Donghua University ranked 34th in Chinese mainland and 6th in Shanghai.

Founded in 195 1, the school was named East China Textile Vocational and Technical College, which was formed by the merger of textile departments of East China, Central South China and Southwest China universities such as the Textile Department of Jiaotong University. 1985 was renamed China Textile University, and 1999 was renamed Donghua University.

As of May 2009, Donghua University has Songjiang Campus, Yan 'an Road Campus and Xinhua Road Campus, which are located in Songjiang District and Changning District respectively, covering an area of nearly 2,000 mu and a construction area of more than 780,000 square meters. The school has 18 colleges (departments) and 55 undergraduate majors, covering ten disciplines such as engineering and science.
