The Oral English Test (TSE) is used to measure the oral English communication ability of non-native English speakers. The exam time is about 20 minutes. Educational testing service (ETS) is responsible for setting questions, writing papers, grading and distributing report cards.
The results of TSE test show the influence of candidates' oral communication ability on their successful communication ability in academic or professional environment. Many colleges and universities in North America use the results of the TSE test to select foreign teaching assistants (ITAs). This achievement is also used to select and certify professional medical personnel, such as doctors, nurses, pharmacists and veterinarians.
