The whole process of aerobic breathing (university content)
Glucose glycolysis produces two molecules of pyruvate, then decarboxylates to produce acetaldehyde, then dehydrogenates with coenzyme A to produce acetyl coenzyme A, and then enters the tricarboxylic acid cycle (plants and microorganisms may also enter the glyoxylic acid cycle), and the reduced hydrogen produced by the reaction enters the electron transfer chain to produce ATP.
