1992, the first debate in Shen Nan began. Today, despite the ups and downs, thanks to the pursuit of students and the support of the school, it can last forever and become more and more prosperous. Every spring, the World Chinese Debate Competition hosted by Shen Nan has become the focus of world attention. Every year when sweet-scented osmanthus is fragrant, the opening ceremony of Shennan Cup has almost become a school-wide speculation. No matter on campus or off campus, as long as there is a debate, it is difficult to find one in the lecture hall, and it is crowded. The enthusiasm of the students for decades not only brought the excellent performance of the school team in international and domestic competitions and many provincial and municipal champions, but also made the atmosphere of the debate pass down from generation to generation in this 30-year-old university of finance and economics. Looking back on the debate history of Shen Nan for more than ten years, we find that the excellent debaters who have grown up from the debate stage include almost all the elite and backbone students in Shen Nan. Debate enables them to pay more dialectical attention to and analyze the major propositions of the times and around them, and also enables them to supplement their knowledge more eagerly and conduct more research. After leaving the campus, they either enter the top prestigious schools for further study, or work in large well-known companies, or become civil servants in the core organs of the state, which can be described as one in a million. The demonstration effect radiated from this has made a group of students from the Southern Examinations participate in the debate. This high-level and popular campus cultural atmosphere needs benign interaction between teachers and students in order to carry forward and make it last forever.

A university of finance and economics with a history of only 30 years has debated for more than 20 years. Since 1992, almost all the main student leaders of the Youth League Committee and the Student Union have been taken over by the debate team. At the beginning of each academic year, more than 1000 people have signed up for the debate team (only 5,000 freshmen in the south trial), and the number of on-the-job debaters remains at around 300 every year. All secondary colleges have regular debate teams. Shen Nan's debate, with the concept of gentleman's harmony but different, and persistent debate enthusiasm, infected everyone in it. On March 5, 2009, Nanjing Audit University established the Nanjing Audit University and Jun Debate Society. In just two years, it has hosted many large-scale activities such as Jiangsu Famous School Debate Competition and Hejun International Debate Group, National University of Singapore Debate Competition and East China Famous School Debate Competition. The World Chinese Debate Competition, which started on 20 1 1, has also become the only international debate competition hosted by students in Chinese mainland, radiating more than 200 universities on four continents, and is known as the "World Cup" in the debate circle.

The Southern Panel has participated in many competitions at home and abroad, such as the World College Students' Chinese Debate Competition, and has exchanged views with many famous universities at home and abroad, such as Wuhan University, National University of Singapore, Melbourne University, Fudan University, Chongqing University, Nanjing University, Suzhou University, Nanchang University, Tongji University, Xi Jiaotong University and Macau University of Science and Technology. He has won the runner-up in the 2nd International Chinese Debate Competition, the runner-up in the Kai Tak International College Debate Invitational Competition, the sixth place in the world junior college Chinese Debate Competition, the national champion of CDA, the top eight in China, the champion of Jiangsu College Debate Competition, the champion of Jiangsu College Debate Competition, the champion of Nanjing College Debate League, the champion of Nanjing TV Debate Competition and the champion of Nanjing Tax City Competition. By virtue of his diligence and wisdom, the debater of Nan Shen initiated a new model for the development of debate competitions in non-key universities in recent years.
