It is one of the six sports colleges directly under the former State Sports General Administration, and now it is a college jointly established by Sichuan Province and the State Sports General Administration. It is the oldest physical education institute in China. The school headquarters is located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, adjacent to the famous historical site Wuhou Temple. It is one of the key institutions of sports in China, and is currently in charge of the Liaoning Provincial Department of Education. 5. Wuhan Institute of Physical Education.

Formerly known as Central South Institute of Physical Education, it is one of the first independent full-time physical education institutions of higher learning in New China. 1953 was founded in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, 1955 moved to Wuhan City, Hubei Province, 1956 was renamed Wuhan Institute of Physical Education, directly under the State Sports General Administration. 200 1 was established by the State Sports General Administration and the People's Government of Hubei Province.
