Wu Shanming (194 1-) is from Pujiang, Zhejiang. 1964 graduated from China Academy of Art, majoring in figure painting, and has been teaching there ever since. He is currently a member of the Academic Committee of China Academy of Art, a professor and doctoral supervisor of the Department of Chinese Painting, a member of the Standing Committee of the Tenth National People's Congress of Zhejiang Province, a director of the China Artists Association, a vice chairman of the Zhejiang Artists Association, a president of the China Figure Painting Research Association of Zhejiang Province, a member of the Stamp Appraisal Committee of the National Stamp Bureau, a member of the Cultural and Artistic Appraisal Committee of the Ministry of Culture of China, a professor of Zhejiang University, a professor of Zhejiang Engineering College and an honorary professor of Zhejiang Normal University. Wu Shanming will hold a solo exhibition "Back to Simplicity" in China Art Museum on May 3rd/KLOC-0th/4th.
