In order to implement the spirit of "Several Opinions on Further Strengthening Undergraduate Teaching in Colleges and Universities" and "Several Opinions of the Ministry of Education on Deepening the Reform of Higher Vocational Education with Employment as the Guidance", strengthen the construction of teaching materials and ensure the quality of teaching materials, China Electric Power Education Institute has organized and formulated the "Eleventh Five-Year" teaching material plan for general higher education. This book is a teaching material for the course design of Power Plant Electricity for the majors of power plant and power system, power supply technology and electrical automation technology in higher vocational colleges.

This book mainly expounds the basic principles, requirements, steps and calculation methods of the electrical part design of large and medium-sized power plants (substations), and introduces some commonly used charts, technical data and reference materials in the design of electrical equipment; At the same time, the relevant design technical regulations and rules are introduced in combination with each chapter in the book. The practical calculation method of short-circuit current, the design principle and common connection forms of electrical main wiring, the design of power consumption in the plant (station), the selection of electrical primary equipment, the layout of power distribution devices and overvoltage protection are introduced in detail. This book can be used together with the textbook Electrical Equipment of Power Plants.

In the calculation of short-circuit current, the running curve method is emphatically introduced, and this book does not involve computer algorithms. Limited by space, the secondary circuits such as circuit breaker control, signal and protection have not been compiled. Readers can consult relevant teaching materials or materials if necessary.

The book is divided into seven chapters, the first and third chapters are written by Guo Lin and Ma Yan of Zhengzhou Electric Power Institute, the second and fourth chapters are written by Guo Lin, the fifth and sixth chapters are written by Shi Fengjie of Zhengzhou Electric Power Institute, and the seventh chapter is written by Li Peng of Zhengzhou Electric Power Institute.
