Dalian University of Technology, referred to as "Dagong", is located in Dalian. It is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the State Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, and a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education, Liaoning Province and Dalian City. It is a "World-class University Construction University" and a national "985 Project" and "2 1 1 Project".

Major members of the Union of Universities of Excellence, China-Russia Union of Engineering Universities, China-Russia Jiaotong University Union, China-Europe Engineering Education Platform, National 16 Symposium on Scientific and Technological Work of Key Engineering Universities, and China Artificial Intelligence Education Association.

Dalian University of Technology, formerly known as Engineering College of Dalian University, was founded in April 1949. 1in July, 950, the establishment of Dalian University was abolished, and the Institute of Technology of Dalian University was independent from Dalian Institute of Technology; 1988 changed its name to Dalian University of Technology in March.

As of April, 20021year, the school has three campuses: Dalian Lingshui, Development Zone and Panjin, with a total area of 357 1.300 square meters and a building area of about 1.8825 million square meters. There are 6 departments, 2 1 independent colleges and teaching departments, 3 specialized colleges and 1 independent colleges, offering 9 1 undergraduate majors. There are 29 first-class doctoral programs, 42 first-class master programs and 26 post-doctoral research stations.
