Shanghai Theatre Academy is an art college in China that trains drama professionals. Its predecessor was Shanghai Experimental Drama School. It was founded on June 1 945+February1by Li Jianwu, Huang, a famous educator and dramatist, with Mr. Xiong Foxi as the first dean. It is an art school founded by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government. It was selected into the national postgraduate project of building a high-level university and the "key discipline project with characteristics" of the national construction university.
