Co-opted academicians are held every two years, and the total number of co-opted academicians does not exceed 60. The allocation of co-opted places in each department shall be determined by the permanent leadership of the Academician Conference according to the discipline layout and the development trend of the discipline. Academician candidates are recommended in the following two ways, and their applications are not accepted.
(1) academicians directly recommend candidates. Each co-election, each academician recommends no more than 2 candidates; Recommended by 3 or more academicians. This paragraph is only applicable to the recommendation of China scholars and experts who live in Hongkong, Macao Special Administrative Region and Taiwan Province Province and in other countries.
(two) the relevant domestic scientific and technological research institutions, institutions of higher learning and the first-level societies affiliated to the China Association for Science and Technology shall recommend candidates according to the organizational system. These candidates must go through the primary election organized by their competent departments, China Association for Science and Technology or provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government.
The Standing Committees of all departments organize academicians to review and select candidates. Evaluation must adhere to standards, follow the principles of fairness and objectivity, and make a comprehensive and scientific evaluation of candidates. The election was held by secret ballot, with a difference of 40%.
The number of academicians participating in the voting in each department should exceed half of the number of academicians in this department. Candidates who have won not less than two-thirds of the votes shall be elected in turn according to the number of places to be elected by the department and the number of votes, until the number of places is full.
The election results shall be examined and confirmed by the standing committees of various departments, and shall be notified to all academicians in writing after being examined and approved by the permanent leading bodies of the Academician Conference.
According to the provisions of Article 3 of the Nationality Law of the People's Republic of China, People's Republic of China (PRC) does not recognize dual nationality of its citizens, and academicians will automatically give up the title of academician after joining foreign nationality.
When an academician's personal behavior violates national laws, endangers national interests or loses scientific ethics, or violates the academician's standards, when at least five academicians put forward a written proposal to revoke his title as an academician, the decision to revoke his title as an academician can be made after the Standing Committee of his department accepts the deliberation and all academicians in the department vote.
When making this decision, the number of academicians participating in the voting shall not be less than two-thirds of the number of academicians in the department, and the number of votes in favor of revoking the title of academician shall not be less than two-thirds of the number of voters. Second, co-option
Academician of China Academy of Sciences is co-elected every two years. Every co-election, academician candidates should be recommended first, and then selected by the division. Each academician can recommend up to 2 candidates. When co-opted in 2003, candidates over the age of 65 were required to be recommended by six or more academicians, and at least four academicians were from the same department.
The department has two rounds of evaluation. The first round produces preliminary candidates, and the second round produces formal candidates. Since 2003, the first round of assessment has all adopted exchange assessment. The judges independently judge and exercise the right to vote by reading the relevant materials of the recommended person.
Then there is the election, in which the standing committees of various departments organize academicians of their own departments to vote by secret ballot on the official candidates of their own departments. The average age of new academicians is 62, with 35% under 60 and 9% under 50. The youngest is 44 years old. They are from the European and Nanjing General Hospital of Nanjing Military Region of Harbin Institute of Technology. So far, the total number of academicians of China Academy of Engineering has reached 663, including 36 women, with an average age of 69.6.
