North university of china is a multi-disciplinary teaching and research university jointly founded by the Shanxi Provincial People's Government and the National Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, and managed by the Shanxi Provincial People's Government.

The school currently has two campuses: north university of china Headquarters Address: No.3 Xueyuan Road, Taiyuan, Shanxi; North university of china (Shuozhou Campus) Address: No.65 Changning Street, Development Zone, Shuozhou City, Shanxi Province.

Biomedical engineering major is in the school headquarters.
