China Academy of Fine Arts, referred to as Gome, is located in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. It was co-founded by the people of China, the Ministry of Education, the people of China, the Ministry of Culture and the People's Government of Zhejiang Province. It is a national "double first-class" construction university and the first batch of key construction universities in Zhejiang Province.

China Academy of Art was founded in 1928, and its full name is National Academy of Fine Arts. 1929, renamed as National Hangzhou Art Institute; 1938, changed to National Art Institute. 1950, becoming East China Branch of Central Academy of Fine Arts; 1958, renamed Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts; 1993, renamed China Academy of Art.

Before 2000, it was managed by the Ministry of Culture. In 2000, it became a university jointly established by provincial departments. In 20 16, it was approved as a university established by the People's Government of Zhejiang Province, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Culture.
