The historical evolution of Jimei University;

1994 Jimei University was established on the basis of the merger of the former Jimei University of Finance and Economics, Jimei Maritime College, Xiamen Fisheries College, Fujian Institute of Physical Education and Jimei Teachers College.

In 2003, Chengyi College (Independent College) of Jimei University was established.

In 2008, Jimei University passed the undergraduate teaching level evaluation of the Ministry of Education with excellent results.

On February 2, 20 13, Jimei University passed the overall acceptance of the new doctoral degree-granting unit project organized by the Provincial Academic Degrees Committee.

On July 2013 19, the State Council Academic Degrees Committee issued a document, officially approving the addition of doctoral degrees in Jimei University.
