In the early 1990s, the textile engineering discipline was rated as a provincial key discipline during the Eighth Five-Year Plan period, and at the same time, the new spinning laboratory under this discipline became a provincial key laboratory. During the Eighth Five-Year Plan period, the accumulated investment was more than 4 million yuan, which made the specialty develop rapidly. 1993 successfully applied for the master's degree in textile engineering, and 1995 began to enroll students. 1996, the provincial double "key points" passed the acceptance smoothly, and the provincial teaching evaluation results were excellent. The specialty of textile materials and product design has been upgraded from junior college to undergraduate college, forming a school-running pattern of one master's major and four undergraduate majors.
Since 1999, according to the professional adjustment requirements of the Ministry of Education, four undergraduate majors of textile engineering have been merged into 1 undergraduate majors, and four professional directions have been established, namely, textile materials and textile design, knitting and clothing, textile and computer application, and textile and textile trade. In 2005, the professional direction of "Modern Textile Technology and Application" was added. In 2005, the first-class master of textile science and engineering was successfully applied, covering four second-class masters. On the basis that the three master's majors of textile engineering, dyeing and finishing and clothing have been enrolled for many years, the master's majors of textile materials and textile design can also enroll students from this year. In addition, it also trains master of engineering in textile field.
At present, two levels of talent training mode have been formed. Students not only learn the basic theory of textile, but also learn computer, trade, economy, clothing and other aspects, which fully embodies the training mode of "wide caliber, thick foundation and compound talents". Nearly 4000 textile engineering graduates have been trained for Shandong province and even the whole country, and the one-time employment rate has remained above 95% year after year. In 2005, the admission rate of postgraduate entrance examination reached 39.2%. At present, in the textile industry, especially in Shandong province, many important positions are students trained by this major, which has made great contributions to the development of the industry. Many graduates have served as administrative leaders and technical leaders of enterprises and institutions, and many students have obtained master's and doctoral degrees, and have been promoted to key positions such as professors and researchers.
There are 30 teachers in textile engineering, including professors 10, teachers with master's degree or above 2 1 0, accounting for 70% of the total number of teachers, and 5 experimental teachers. In recent five years, teachers have published 154 scientific research papers, 3 monographs, 4 teaching materials, 3 scientific research projects at or above the provincial level, 3 scientific research achievement awards at or above the provincial level, 5 excellent teaching achievement awards at or above the provincial level, and courses such as textile materials science and knitting science have been rated as provincial-level excellent courses in Shandong Province. Participated in the compilation of three national tenth five-year plan textbooks and 1 Ministry tenth five-year plan textbooks. At present, four national 11th Five-Year textbooks and two ministerial 11th Five-Year textbooks are being compiled.
