Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology is a national key university featuring atmospheric science. The school was founded in 1960, originally under the Meteorological Bureau of the Central Military Commission, and formerly known as the Meteorological College of Nanjing University. 1963 Nanjing Institute of Meteorology was established independently, which was jointly established by Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, China Ministry of Education, China Meteorological Bureau and State Oceanic Administration.

Shanghai Ocean University is a university jointly established by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, the State Oceanic Administration and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. It is a multi-disciplinary applied research university with the characteristics of marine, aquatic products and food disciplines and the coordinated development of agriculture, science, engineering, economics, management, literature and law.
The school was formerly known as 19 12 Jiangsu Fisheries School founded by Zhang Jian and Huang Yanpei, and was upgraded to Shanghai Fisheries College, the first undergraduate fisheries university in China, in 1952, after running schools such as Fisheries College of Agricultural College of National Central University, National Sichuan Fisheries Vocational School, Shanghai Wusong Fisheries College and Shanghai Fisheries College.
