The college has established a comprehensive cooperative relationship with the famous School of Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy Engineering of the University of New South Wales, Australia, and established a "2+2" joint training program and scholarship; Is the project organizer of Jiangxi photovoltaic material technology innovation team; Affiliated unit of Jiangxi Photovoltaic Technology Engineering Research Center; Executive director of Jiangxi Photovoltaic Industry Association; Member unit of European joint research project on new technology of single crystal thin film battery.
The initial construction and operation of the college is based on the School of Materials of Nanchang University, and it is the undertaker of key construction projects of Nanchang University in the Ninth Five-Year Plan, the Tenth Five-Year Plan and the Eleventh Five-Year Plan. "Ninth Five-Year Plan" and "Tenth Five-Year Plan" both passed the acceptance of the Ministry of Education with excellent results, and they have the qualification of granting doctoral degrees in materials science and engineering approved by the state, and are postdoctoral mobile stations. It has undertaken major projects planned by the Innovation Team of the Ministry of Education, with an experimental teaching area of about10.6 million square meters and a total value of experimental instruments and equipment of about10.8 million yuan.
In the first half of 2009, the Photovoltaic Institute invested an additional 3 million yuan to build a solar photovoltaic material laboratory. In the second half of the year, we will further invest in building a photovoltaic cell technology and testing laboratory and jointly build a solar roof demonstration power station. Photovoltaic College now offers the major of "Material Physics", focusing on photovoltaic materials and photovoltaic cell technology, and cultivating material science and technology talents with a solid foundation in material physics and technical expertise in solar photovoltaic materials and devices.
